The way we use ourselves conditions function. Misuse of ourselves leads to tight and shortened muscles which distort our bodies and causes pain and malfunction. Learning how to use oneself correctly with the Alexander Technique, and reshaping the body with the Mezieres’ Method, remove the primary causes of all our musculoskeletal disorders. But it goes beyond that as the whole body/mind unit benefits from this approach.
Roger Sperry PhD., a Medical Nobel Prize winner for brain research in 1981, said that: "Better than 90 percent of the energy output of the brain is used in relating the physical body to the gravitational field. The more mechanically distorted a person is, the less energy available for thinking, metabolism and healing."
With 25 years of experience in pain relief and posture and shape rehabilitation, Joel has the necessary expertise to preserve or restore a healthy and pain-free musculoskeletal system so that his patients/pupils will have enough energy “available for thinking, metabolism and healing”.
