He trained as an Anaesthetist and was promoted from Registrar to a Specialist in Anaesthetics and Pain Management. In 1976, together with another Consultant Anaesthetist, he founded one of the first NHS pain clinics in the UK, where he worked for 17 years treating NHS patients with acute and chronic intractable pain. He was also an active member of the trauma and intensive care unit team and provided pain relief service for post operative and maternity units.

His particular interest in all aspects of
pain management has led him to further training in a wider range of therapeutic techniques which embrace both orthodox and complementary medicine. This includes; autogenic training, self hypnosis, counselling, psychotherapy, spinal and peripheral nerve injections, acupunture, low light laser therapy, static and dynamic bio mechanical assessments, sports and rehabilitation medicine and osteopathy.

Adapting to his patients' needs and adhering to the principles and philosophy of Dr Andrew Still, the founder of Osteopathy, Dr Wahba has developed an eclectic and truly holistic integrative approach aimed at the alleviation and treatment of many symptoms. This includes acute
pain and the long term management and prevention of pain. He sees patients from all age groups including infants and the elderly.

Dr.Wahba lectures to NHS consultants, general practitioners, trainee doctors, nurses and midwives on pain management. He is a member of the National Council for Osteopathic Research, The British Institute of Musculoskeletal Medicine, The British Society of Medical Acupuncture, The British Osteopathic Association and The Association of Medical Osteopath.
